FAQ
How do you get access to my home when I'm not there?
Generally clients give myself a spare key to their home for the duration my services are required. Keys will not have your address on them or be identifiable to others. Keys are always kept in a lockable safe and will be returned immediately if requested.
Alternatively, if you would prefer, you can leave a key with a neighbour or in safe place. It is your home and you have to feel comfortable with the access arrangement that suits you.
How many dogs are in a group walk?
Bark in the Park will never have more than 5 dogs in any group walk, and the fifth space will only be filled by my own pooch Hamish. This is to ensure maximum attention and safety for your furry friends, while still allowing them to enjoy their natural 'pack' environment. I also only place dogs that are compatible with each other in the same group, ensuring that their are no personality clashes. Just like people, not all dogs get along.
Where do we walk?
I like to walk in varied locations, including forests, riversides, beaches, the old Deeside Railway line and through parks. I will never just take them to the local park to run around and tire themselves out for the whole hour. Instead, your pooch will get a varied walk including different sights and smells so they have new environments to explore and stimulate their senses.
Will my dog be let off the lead?
This will only be done with full permission of yourself and only in safe locations. Extendable leads or training leads can be used with your permission to allow your doggy a little more freedom to explore while still being completely safe.
How will my dog be transported?
I believe in welcoming every pooch into Bark in the Park day as part of the family. No cages in the back of a dark van, but instead travelling safely in my car as part of the family with a window view and fresh air.. I understand that not all dogs travel well in the car, and that all dogs will be eager to start their adventure as soon as possible, so I aim to keep journey time to a complete minimum.
How long will my dog be walked for?
Your pooch will embark on a full 1-
What condition will my dog be returned in?
Apart from tired, happy and content, your dog will also be given a good rub down with a towel and paws cleaned to remove any dirt picked up on their adventure before entering your home again. All dogs will be given a drink of water at the end of their walk to rehydrate them.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have full dog walker insurance with Petplan Sanctuary.
